"You’ve got some nerve ignoring us all weekend!"
If the squirrels in my backyard could talk, that’s what they’d say. Iggy and I left Friday afternoon for a weekend in Connecticut. We made sure the Squirrel Palace, squirrel bungee and water containers were well-stocked before we departed. No squirrels would go hungry.
But my squirrels like their peanuts, which Iggy and I dole out only in person. They weren’t happy with the nutty blackout.
How do I know this?
On Sunday afternoon I found a carefully dissected daffodil bulb scattered over my front sidewalk. Squirrels love most bulbs, but not daffodils. They will, however, suffer proximity to daffodil bulbs to deliver a pointed message. Hence the bulb pieces laid out for maximum visibility without any actual squirrelly digestion of said bulb.
