Are these walnut chocolate chip cookies my reward or my punishment?
They might be a reward for washing the kitchen floor and starting a load of laundry. Or they might be a punishment for not accomplishing more today. Perhaps one cookie would have been a reward, but the eight that I’ve consumed amount to punishment. But why?
This is my response to this week’s Sunday Scribbling theme of "Punishment and Reward."
haha I know the feeling! I have been on weight watchers for 2 months. I think maybe Two would be a nice reward for the chores. Don’t think of 8 as a punishment, maybe think of it as a impulsive indulgence, that you won’t do again unless you do some dusting too!

I know what you mean! I noticed that you had a reward in your last post too…cool.

I go from reward to guilt when I eat too many sweets. All the enjoyment gets lost.

Well…I hate walnuts…especially when they are snuck into chocolate chip cookies so ANY of them would be punishment to me. Hey, you ate the cookies, give it a “shouldn’t uh done that…why did I do that” and call it a day. Thanks for the post

I, too, would eat around the walnuts. But the housework you’re describing (what to do, what not to do) sounds like a typical day in my house, sometimes more punishment than reward!

chocolate, cookies? there’s a running theme here today that’s making me very hungry (my indulgence is sharp English cheddar, really). . .

I think cookies are always rewards! Especially when you wash the kitchen floor!
There’s too much emphasis placed on the good and bad of food products- it’s just food! But it’s the way you feel about the food that makes all the difference while you’re eating it! So enjoy your eight cookies and they will reward you!

It seems there’s a fine line between reward & punishment! Peace, JP
