When your neighbor shares her fox urine…
… you know that you’ve been accepted as a member of the neighborhood.
Today I noticed definite toothmarks on my pumpkin.
“Are the squirrels eating it? I’ve got something for that.” My neighbor ran into her house and return with a large plastic canister. She sprinkled some of the white powder on and around the pumpkin.
Apparently fox urine scares off the squirrels. They think a fox is lurking to grab them as an appetizer.
We’ll see. My squirrels are gutsy.
I almost told my neighbor, “No, I bought the pumpkin for them. The squirrels, I mean.” But I would like to enjoy my pumpkin for awhile. I can always hose off the powder after Halloween when I dump the pumpkin in my backyard as an offering to my fuzzytailed friends.
I wonder if that would work to keep them away from my bulbs when I plant them. Where did your neighbor get fox urine!?

I like that the squirrels will eventually get the pumpkin when you’re done with it.
As for the above comment - it’s amazing what can be purchased over the Internet!
