Can you propose a good title for my squirrel memoir?
Later this month I’m attending a seminar on memoirs. I’ll have to wear my memoir title instead of a name tag.
Here’s one idea:
Squirrels in My Backyard: How Suburban Squirrels Opened My Eyes to Nature and My Career as a Freelancer.
Yeah, yeah, too long-winded.
I’m playing off the renamed title of Grace Marmor Spruch’s Such Agreeable Friends, which became Squirrels at My Window: Life with A Remarkable Gang of Urban Squirrels.
My squirrels are suburban, not urban. And I got a good reaction to my one essay where I talked about my discovery of squirrels coinciding with my time in outplacement. I really don’t know that I can pull off an entire book about squirrels. But they continue to command my attention.
